Alison Parker & The Final Nails

The Final Nails are a Bluegrass/Americana line up of Alison Parker Schultz (vocal, mandolin & guitar), Thomas Schultz(double bass and acrobatics), Mark Barrett (voice, guitar, banjo, blues harps) and Nigel Sedgwick (voice, dobro and guitar). It can often include guest appearances from their many talented friends and pretty much guarantees a party.

Alison has been involved in music her whole life. Credits include composing/delivering music for theatre productions such as Of Mice and Men, As You Like it, Much Ado about Nothing and Blood Wedding. She fronts a well known barn dance band, Alison Parker and the Third Man, and a swing band Strong Medicine with her bass player husband Thomas. They also host sessions at the White Lion in West Kirby, Wirral and appear at festivals and live music venues. She spent a number of years in the Philharmonic choir.

Thomas took up Double Bass aged 11 and never wanted to play anything else! His earlier credits include 2 years with the Brian Setzer Orchestra and 4 years touring with his Rockabilly Musical The Dick Brave Project, largely in his native Germany. He currently plays in a number of band line-ups with his wife. In addition, he plays with InterCity Blues Band, the Swinging Bricks and The Cheesecutters, including co-hosting their Wednesday radio show on Radio Deeside.

Mark Barrett is also involved in many of the above projects with the Schultzes. In addition his band The Boys of the Thatch play every Monday at The Wheatsheaf in Raby, at Weddings and recently at Liverpool Irish Festival and Wirral Folk Festival. He is a versatile and lively contributor as well as a great mate! Nigel Sedgwick is an accomplished singer and player. He is also involved with most of the above and recently performed with Alison as support  duo to Emily Portman (BBC Folk Awards Winner) and plays a good range from English Folk to Ragtime. His day job has recently been limiting his partying and the band is looking forward to having him back.

The Final Nails will be providing our ceilidh/line/square dancing for the day! We are super lucky to have them for three whole sets until the sun goes down, our first dance is at 14:30, our second at 17:30 and our evening dance at 19:30. Get those dancing boots ready!
