The Tailors’ Book Club

Founded by singer-songwriter, Stephen ‘Moon’ Mooney, ‘The Tailors’ Book Club’ is an Indie Folk/Americana with moody lyrics wrapped in toe-tapping melodies, sparse arrangements and big harmonic choruses. A natural storyteller, he combines folk narratives and driving rhythms into a tales of dark within light within dark, of resignation and of hope.

Stephen Mooney started his performance life as a poet and still litters his lyrics with passing references to the likes of Dylan Thomas, nods to Jack London or Hemingway or translating from Brecht. He has performed across Europe either solo or with his quartet, as part of the ukulele swing duo, ‘Neno and the Jule Thief’ or playing guitar and producing rhythms for Electronica artist, ‘Dorothy Bird’.
